Bodybuilding and the barbell

Bodybuilding is judged on appearance; powerlifting is judged on load. They share a training hall and almost nothing else in the scoring, which is why a site that covers both should say so plainly rather than blur them together.

If you want to know where your own lifts sit against people who were scored on load, that is the other half of this site — percentile curves from judged competition lifts. If you want to know what fuelling a physique actually costs in calories and protein, the food numbers we use are the USDA's, published in full at FuelFacts.

Where this comes from. Athlete records — nationality, birth, height, weight — are from Wikidata, which is public domain. Champion rolls are the factual columns (year, name, country) of the corresponding Wikipedia articles, read at a recorded revision and reproduced as data only; the wording on this page is our own.
